Sierra is a pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist Clinical Fellow, currently working towards receiving her Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC's). Her passion has always been for helping people and especially loves working with kids. This career allows her to help kids find their voice and use it to the best of their ability, whether that is through increasing their verbal communication, using a device, or fine-tuning their speech sounds. She recognizes that every child has their own unique and amazing qualities and strives to provide holistic, patient-centered care to ensure that treatment is a success!

Education

Sierra earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Biola University and her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Arizona. While earning her Bachelor's degree at Biola University, she played collegiate volleyball all four years of her undergraduate education.

Career

After graduating with her BS in Communication Sciences and Disorders, she moved back home from California to Arizona to earn her Master degree from one of the top 10 accredited Speech Pathology Graduate programs in the country, University of Arizona. During graduate school, she secured adult medical placements at HonorHealth John C. Lincoln Medical Center and the Tucson VA Medical Center where she pursued her interests in acute care and rehabilitation in adults. Following graduation in May 2022, she married her husband and took a few months off to enjoy newlywed life. During that time, she decided to go back into pediatrics, missing her favorite population to work with - kids! In August, she began working for a large multi-disciplinary private practice, gaining experience with evaluation and treatment of kids with varying needs. She began working at Total Pediatrics in January of 2023, continuing her Fellowship and working towards earning her ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence. She is thrilled to be a part of a multidisciplinary team and clinic that truly prioritizes the children and families we serve!
