Sarah is a pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist with a passion for nurturing a child’s communication development by supporting each client’s individuality and unique learning styles. As a new mother and NICU parent, to an incredibly fun-loving, outgoing, silly, and courageous little boy, she understands the range of emotions that co-exist with having a child who requires extra attention and care. She loves working with kids and feels strongly about implementing a family-centered approach to services and providing a warm and collaborative atmosphere that balances both patient care and parent education/involvement. Sarah strives to make both the client and family feel comfortable and confident in progression of skills and carryover into their natural environment to ensure that treatment is a success!

Education

Sarah earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from The University of Iowa and her Master of Science in Speech Language Pathology from Saint Xavier University in Chicago, Illinois.

Career

Following completion of her MS in Speech-Language Pathology, she secured a job within a public elementary school, for her Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY), servicing children from Pre-K to 5th grade both in the general and special education classrooms. After receiving her Clinical Certificate of Competency (CCC), Sarah trained to become an Early Intervention provider in the state of Illinois. She transitioned to a private multi-disciplinary practice, providing family-centered services within the child’s natural environment (daycare, school, home, etc.). Over her 7 years working in home health, she gained a vast amount of experience working with children birth to age 10, focusing specifically on early language development, social skills, and speech sound disorders. Additionally, she became certified in the Get Permission Approach, helping families of little ones with picky eating concerns. In the summer of 2021, Sarah moved to Buckeye, Arizona with her husband and started her own private practice that concentrated on supporting individuals with remediation of speech sound disorders.
